Two cases of horrifying sexual crimes, shockingly involving some boys too, have rocked Tamil Nadu in recent days with Chief Minister MK Stalin telling the Legislative Assembly that maximum punishment would be secured for the accused.

While one incident pertains to a Nirbhaya-type gang-rape of a doctor in Vellore in north Tamil Nadu: another involved the blackmail and serial sexual abuse of a young Dalit woman in Virudhunagar in the southern part of the state.
