The dombivli police in Thane have arrested a ward boy of a private hospital for sexually assaulting a 75-yearold woman. During their investigation, the police found the senior citizen was sexually assaulted twice between February 16 and February 19. She narrated the ordeal to her daughter, who then approached the police to register a complaint. The ward boy has been identified as Kanadas Vaishnav, 25, a resident of Dombivli. 

   

     The police said the incident took place at Sparsh Hospital, where the victim was admitted. The victim claimed the ward boy touched her inappropriately when he took her to the X-ray room. At first, she thought it was inadvertent. After it happened again, she told her daughter, who took up the matter with the hospital authorities and the police. A case has been registered at Dombivli police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation in the case was carried out under the guidance of senior police inspector Sachin Sandbhor.

      

 It was investigated by police inspector Kesav Hasgule. Sandbhor confirmed that a case had been registered and the ward boy was arrested and produced in court. He was sent to magistrate custody 

Nigerian held with drugs worth over Rs 22 lakh in Navi Mumbai 

A Nigerian, who was out on bail in drugs case, has been arrested for alleged possession of narcotics worth over Rs 22 lakh in Navi Mumbai, the police said on Tuesday. 

    The Navi Mumbai police have recovered amphetamine and methaqualone worth Rs 22.65 lakh from the accused, Annehe Kingsley Chinedu, 37, Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Bipin Kumar Singh said.

        The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) lakh of the Navi Mumbai police had received information about some persons arriving near an IT park at Turbhe on February 19 and laid a trap at the location, the official said.
