Mumbai: one killed in firing at Dahisar SBI branch

's State Bank of India within 12 hours of the crime on Thursday. A contractual staffer, Sandesh Gomane, had been shot dead. Investigators arrested cousins Dharmendra Yadav, 21, and 

Vikas Yadav

, 19, who had been preparing for the heist for months by studying internet videos. A major portion of the stolen money has been recovered. The accused have told the police that they intended to scare bank employees by firing, but had not planned on killing anyone. 

At 3.26 pm on Wednesday, the two men had walked into the unguarded SBI branch at Gurukul society, less than a kilometre from Dahisar station. As Gomane stood up, one of the men shot at him in the chest. Gomane slumped in a chair as the men went about threatening other employees-- most of them women-- and looted Rs 2.50 lakh from the cashier's desk. The entire heist occurred in just two minutes and the robbers fled in foot. From the surveillance footage, investigators gathered the robbers were likely to be amateurs.


Mumbai: Two masked robbers fired a round inside the State bank of india branch at dahisar west on wednesday killing one person. The deceased, sandesh Gomare ,25, was an outsourced employee. The two mask offenders robbed RS 2.5 Lakh in cash from the bank and fled. MHB colony police is in the process of registering  a muder case 


The incident was reported arround 3:30 pm when there was no guard at the bank. The masked man arrived on foot "as soon as duo entered the branch, Gomare stood up. The men fired around at his chest," said additional commissioner pravin padwal.

The robbers than threatened the rest of the staff as they moved around the branch, brandishing weapons. They look through the drawers before picking up the cash. Cameras have captured the duo fleeing. Bothe the men appeared to be young.


The Bank was about to shut for customers when the incident occured. Police have stared checking cameras of adjacent housing societies and establishments for clues. Crime branch (unit 11) is conducting a parallel probe.
