Teen kills himself after returning from SSC exam in Thane

A 15-year-old SSC student, Shivanshu Mishra, allegedly jumped from the 19th floor balcony of his house in Thane after returning from his board exam on Saturday.
According to police, the deceased was the only child of his parents and the family lives in a high-rise in Majiwada locality.
On Saturday, Mishra returned home at around 1 pm after appearing for his board exam.
"He was sitting in the hall when his parents asked him to study for his next paper on Monday. The boy replied not to pressure him else he will commit suicide. Suddenly, he went into the balcony and jumped off," said a police officer.
Immediately, the parents rushed downstairs only to find their son lying in a pool of blood. The teen was first taken to Titan hospital where doctors declared him dead. He was then shifted to civil hospital and a post mortem was carried out.
Chitalsar police station assistant police inspector R Vengurlekar said an accidental death report has been filed and further investigation is underway.
After getting habitual to online classes for the past two years, several children are finding it difficult to revert to offline studies.
