The Bombay High Court on Monday asked the state government if it was willing to withdraw its notification issued last year prohibiting those not vaccinated against Covid-19 from travelling in local trains. “Let bygones be bygones. Let there be a new beginning,

" Bombay High Court Chief Justice Dipankar Datta said, adding that state chief secretary Debashiesh Ghakraborty must inform the court today (Tuesday) if the state government will withdraw its decision to permit only fully vaccinated people to travel in the local trains. 

A bench of Chief Justice Datta and Justice MS Karnik was hearing two public interest litigations seeking that all people in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) be allowed to travel in local trains irrespective of their vaccination status. The PILs challenged

The special CBI court on Monday sentenced RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav to five years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 60 lakh on en in conection with the Rs 139-crores fodder scam.The court pronounced the sentence on the quantum of sentence after virtually hearing arguments. 

"Lalu Prasad has been sentenced to five years' imprisonment while a penalty of Rs 60 lakh has also been imposed on him. Apart from Prasad, five years' imprisonment each was announced by the court for five convicts, four years each for 32 convicts, and three years each for three convicts,” CBI counsel BMP Singh said,
